Return Policies

 

Important Note: 

To be eligible for a return we must first be contacted before any item is returned.  This gives us a chance to answer any questions you may have about your return and to issue an RMA Number.  Item(s) cannot be returned until we have issued an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.  If product is returned without an RMA number being issued we will not be issuing a refund or exchange and item will not be shipped back to you once it's received by us.  We will also not be issuing a refund.  For all returns and to receive an RMA number contact us at returns (at) avcdistributor.com.  You will receive returns instructions when the RMA Number is issued.  We are not responsible if item is lost in transit or if damage occurs if item is uninsured.  We are not responsible for personal data or items left in returned merchandise.

Damage or Misuse:

AVC Distributor, LLC will not accept items for return that have been physically damaged or misused.

Note about Incorrect Shipping Addresses/Signatured Required/Refusal of Package:

If an item is returned to us because of incorrect shipping information, non-signature in the case of a package requiring signature confirmation, or refusal of package by recipient we will contact the buyer immediately.  We will issue a refund when the item is received by us and a 15% restocking fee.  We will not refund shipping costs.  

Deadline for Returns:

All items other than media can be returned within 30 days of receipt as long as they are not damaged by the customer.  In cases of items damaged during transit, if an item is missing from  your order, or if incorrect merchandise is shipped to you we must be notified within 5 days of receipt.  In cases of defective merchandise we must be notified within 10 business days of receipt.  For any other returns we must be notified within 30 days of receipt.  At time of notification an RMA Number will be issued.   Once an RMA Number is issued you have 15 days to return the item.  Items must be returned in the condition in which they left our facility and packaged well to avoid damage. 

Postage Costs:

Customer is responsible for postage costs for returning the item.  In cases of an incorrect item received, defective merchandise, and items damaged during transit customer is likely not responsibile for shipping costs. Please see below for more details..

Refunds/Exchanges:

Items must be returned in the condition in which they left our facility and packaged well to avoid damage.  Item will be inspected when they arrive and a refund will be issued within 1 week.  We only refund the cost of the product and do not refund any shipping costs.  If you'd like to exchange the product for a different product since item costs vary it is often best to return the original product for a refund and place a new order for the product that you desire.

Packing Products for Return:

If the item is found to have been damaged by the customer such as by improper use, is improperly packaged when returned, or is missing parts, documentation, and manufacturer's box/packing we reserve the right not to exchange the item and issue a refund instead.  In cases that a refund is issued we reserve the right to charge restocking fees.

Use Care when ordering Technology Related Products:

It is important that you take extra care when ordering merchandise.  With technology products there can at times be incompatiblity issues and other issues so it is important for you to take note of the descriptions and research the products to make sure you are ordering the correct product.  If for any reason you find that the product you ordered may not be the product you needed make sure you contact AVC Distributor first about a return before opening the product.

Return Policy for Media:

All sales are Final on Media that has been opened.  These include CD's, Cassette Tapes, DVD's, Blu-Ray Discs, VHS Tapes, Computer Software, and Video Games that were sold either as "Used" or have been opened.  Unopened/New Items of this type can be returned within 30 days of receipt of merchandise.  If item is defective or damaged we will replace it with an item of the same type. 

All returned items must be returned in the condition in which they left our facility and packaged well to avoid damage.  Customer is responsible for postage costs for returning the item.  Items returned COD will be refused

Defective Merchandise:

Defective Merchandise is merchandise where there was an issue during the manufacturing of it and the manufacturer is at fault.  Fortunately defective merchandise is uncommon.  In most cases such this the manufacturer preferss to work directly with the customer.  Often this policy is stated in the User Manual or Warranty Information which is included with the product.  Many problems are able to be fixed through the phone and/r email. If the item is truly defective and an exchange is needed the manufacturer often will do this exchange.   An exchange using this procedure often is quicker than if the item is returned to us for exchange.  AVC Distributor holds the right to advise which return route is necessary depending on the manufacturer's policies.

AVC Distributor holds the right to refuse a return of a defective item if it is found that the item was damaged or misused by the recipient.  Also, all defective items returned to AVC Distributor are replaced with an item of the same type or either the item will be repaired and returned to the purchaser.  We cannot issue refunds for a defective item except in cases where the item is no longer in stock or in cases where it's found that the item was not defective, was damaged by the customer, was improperly packaged when returned, or was not returned with the original manufacturer's box/packaging.  Incomplete or Non-Defective returns will be refunded, not exchanged, and will be subject to additional restocking fees.  Defective items returned to the manufacturer are handled depending on the policies of the manufacturer.  However, AVC Distributor is committed to your total satisfaction.  If you have any problems, need more information, or need assistance with your purchase please contact us at info (at) avcdistributor.com.  Customer is responsible for initial postage costs for returning the item Items returned COD will be refused.  Item must be returned with all packaging materials.

Damaged items are items that are damaged during transit.  Fortunately damaged items are rare but in cases where there is damage such as this type the shipping company is at fault.  We have to follow the procedures required by our shipping insurance.  This often includes us getting information about the condition of the box and other important details.  Once we are notified of a damaged item we will request the appropriate information so that we can file an insurance claim.  It is important that you keep all materials including the box the item arrived in and pictures of the item and box may be required. AVC Distributor reserves the right to refuse the replacement of a damaged item if it is found that the item was damaged or misused by the recipient.  In cases of a damaged item AVC Distributor replaces the damaged item with an item of the same type.  AVC Distributor cannot issue a refund for a damaged item. Customer is responsible for postage costs for returning the item if necessary.  Items returned COD will be refused.
